As discussed during the September 2012 USEAM meeting, LEA’s will be given the chance to “opt-in” for the Utah State Instructional Materials Access Center’s (USIMAC) services on July 1st of each fiscal year. Once an LEA opts-in, they will receive an invoice based on the prior fiscal year’s December 1st count of their students. They will have until June 30th of the current fiscal year to pay their invoice. Those who chose to opt-in agree to only order Core Materials needed for their print disabled Chaffee Eligible students. Additional supplemental materials that are not required on the syllabi (such as Library books, novels, etc.) will be billed at 100% of the cost and require approval from the LEA’s Special Education Director. LEA’s who chose to opt-out of the cost-sharing plan will be responsible to pay 100% of the cost of any materials needed for their qualifying students.
